Several University of Southern Nevada College of Pharmacy students have had their scholarly work published recently. From USN’s South Jordan campus, an article titled “Giardia: An Update and Overview” by students Daniel B. Bowen, David J. Brewer, Christopher M. Christensen and Daniel K. Richards was published in the Summer 2009 issue of The Journal of Collegium Aesculapium (pages 40-43). In the same journal, an article titled “Malaria: An Update and Overview” by Brady Reid Black, Jordan Scott Carver, Tyler Scott McPhie and Cathaleah Pimsakul Stanley was published (pages 44-53).
Dr. Immanuel Ijo, a recent College of Pharmacy graduate, co-wrote with Dr. Tara Muzyk “Pharmacologic Management of Chronic Heart Failure,” which was featured as the lead and CME article in the August 2009 issue of Federal Practitioner.
Finally, Dr. Jorge Villanueva, an intern in the College of Dental Medicine’s Advanced Education in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics’ One-year Internship Program, has co-authored a chapter titled “The Proportions if Facial Balance: An Esthetic Appraisal” in a recently published text book, The Art of Treatment Planning: Dental and Medical Approaches to the Face and Smile.
Congratulations to all of these students and intern for their outstanding work and commitment to their professions.
