USN Nursing Students Win Competion

A group of USN College of Nursing students have won the Nevada Nurses Association’s first Student Nurse Competition. The students, Jana McKee, Garielle Martinez, Tamika Moore and Elsie Yamane presented a suggestion to require a course in all Nevada nursing programs dedicated to the specific needs of the elderly population. Upon winning the competition, the team was invited to present their idea to the Nevada State Board of Nursing.

All teams were judged based on their level of professionalism, the quality of the topic selected and the feasibility of the solution they presented. The USN team was among three finalists from which the judges chose a winner.
